Joseph is Director of the Oxford Martin Programme on Food Sustainability. His research seeks to increase our understanding of the environmental impacts of agriculture and create solutions to mitigate these impacts. His has created one of the most widely use datasets describing the environmental impacts of food products. He is currently building the HESTIA platform which provides data and models that allow us to better understand the environmental impacts of different agricultural products and production practices.
Valentina is a researcher in the Biology Department and Data Lead on the HESTIA project. She works with large agriculture and environmental datasets and manages the flow of data onto the HESTIA platform from our project partners. She will explore some real world case studies during the talk, including from Myanmar, Spain, and the UK.
